December Feelings

Everyone is rushing around, running errands, shopping for gifts, food, and the last-minute foot care session, and I’m happy to help, toenail-wise.  But it’s important to recognize that the cheer does not spread through everyone. Some take this end of year hustle and bustle in ouchy, tentative strides- missing loved ones, reminiscing on holidays in the past that float to the top, and trying to ignore the space left where loved ones used to be.  Client interactions in December are often gentle, discussing spouses, family members, and memories, allowing for the range of emotions that accompany the end of the year.  These special talks with clients are good for the soul and the sole, theirs and mine.  I hold their loved ones and stories in my professional heart with honor and respect, and miss my own loved ones, but I deeply cherish the remembering.

Here’s to the promise of things to come, memories to make, and continued health, inside and out, from head to toe.
